Good Hair Days

I remember a time when I was so paranoid about changing my hair, thinking that I would ruin it. Eventually I became braver , but it was stressful & there were tears - often!

I'm happy to say that I have now found a hair stylist I completely trust to snip, colour, chop & tint as she likes. It's always a fun event with Kelly from Scar & I love seeing the results of her creativity & colouring talents.

Here's her latest creation.

I love the peroxide blonde, longer fringe & hint of an undercut.

Previous cuts here & here.

Pinkness

It's quite funny that during University my friends nick-named me Pink Em and then when I moved to SA a few years later, a different group of friends started calling me Pinky! The 1st was for a collection of rather bright clothes I sported, then later it reflected my lack of sunscreen protection!
Anyway, I do, and have always, loved pink - I even wanted Lula's 2nd name to be Pink but was out-voted on the day of registration due to the connotations with the pop singer - so when Kelly @ Scar suggested we do some pastel pink hair dipping this time round I was more than happy. I ♥ pink. And I'm loving the trend of dip dye hair - applying neon or pastel tones to just the tips of your hair rather than your whole head (which could be a bit too Kawaii for everyday wear). Although having said that, when I was researching Lolita style in Japanese street fashion, the more I I looked, the more convinced I became about going full on Fairy Kei and adopting a My Little Pony inspired Do. Maybe next time....!

such a clever girl that Kelly and the best part is that she's going to give Lula some pink streaks for the Xmas hols ♥

Grey & Yellow Hair!

I've been loving all the pops of neon color featuring in fashion & decor these past few months & have been Pinning their influence like mad, from color dipped table legs, to dip-dye pleated skirts, bright paper bunting & fluro inspired accessories. So when I went to the hairdressers on Sat with a head like a blank canvas, I was super excited when the wonderfully talented Kelly @ Scar said she'd do some slate grey & neon yellow color flecks. I love her interpretation of the candy coloured hair tinting that's trending for Spring/Summer 2012. The ashy grey streaks have a bluey tint which has such a gorgeous water color look with the bright yellow. Lush! I love it.
The only problem now, is that my 3 year old daughter also wants rainbow colored hair and I'm not sure a diy paint solution will have quite the same results!
Thanks so much Kelly the amazing hair artist & Scar ♥
