Turning 1 : Cup Cake Party

I'm finally fulfilling an entry on my to do list that is waaaaaay overdue.
Its the best time of year for me to get things organised. It's makes my head happy.

Sorting out the zillions of images that are sitting on the home computer is a quite a task but one way of doing it was to start with Lula's birthdays.

For the 1st year or so I was so disciplined at keeping actual printed albums, but that seems so old school & they just gather dust under the bed. I'm sure Lula will enjoy looking through them one day, but digital books & organising them on here makes more sense & is a lot easier to catalogue & find.

So here we go.

Aaaaah, it all started here when our little Squish turned 1 in 2009.
She looks so sweet ♥ especially in these retro lomo prints.
A few years ago, my wonderful baking-loving friend bought a cake book for us called Planet Cake.

This book became the inspiration of many a party to follow.
The cake recipes are delicious & it guides you through the techniques of moulding, ganaching & icing your cake creations.

We took on the Giant Cup Cake.

It looked easy enough, but I have to say had it not been for Warren's patience & sculpturing skills it would have been thrown through the window in frustration.
3 days in the making but was well worth the effort.

We made cute pink bow cup cakes (also from the book) & ordered some sugary pink balloons
